Freakonomics establishes this unconventional premise: if morality represents how we would like the world to work, then economics represents how it actually does work. This is a great book that I fully recommend. Although everything has to be taken with a grain of salt, this book really opens up your mind about a lot of what we think is taken for advantage modern knowledge.
